Dorado is a stylized environment art project inspired by the iconic visual identity and atmosphere of Overwatch, recreated from scratch in Unreal Engine 5 as a complete real-time and game-ready environment.
The main goal of this project was to capture the strong color language, readability and gameplay-oriented visual design characteristic of Blizzard’s stylized environments while pushing cinematic presentation and real-time fidelity.
This stylized environment was developed following a complete AAA environment art pipeline, with a strong focus on modular workflows, stylized materials, lighting, environment storytelling and composition. All assets, props, materials, vegetation and shaders were created by me using Unreal Engine 5, Blender, ZBrush, Marmoset Toolbag and Substance Painter.
The project features stylized architecture, modular environment kits, hero props, custom materials, foliage work, atmospheric lighting and cinematic shots crafted to reinforce the visual identity and mood of the environment.
Special thanks to Javier Gago Javiskau, Senior Environment Artist at 2K Valencia, for the mentorship, feedback and support throughout the development of this project.
